Jack Minor Westmoreland, 92, retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after 30 years, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Greg McCoy and Reverend Alan Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Culleoka with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Jack was born on October 1, 1931 in Maury County to the late Clifford Westmoreland and the late Nellie Pilkinton Westmoreland. He served in the United States Marines Corp. during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. Jack had a passion for woodworking, and loved golfing, and earlier in life he enjoyed quail hunting and coon hunting and coached for the Culleoka Summer League. He was a member of Bigbyville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mona Johnson Westmoreland of Culleoka; two daughters, Vickie (Denny) Beaver and Valarie (Jim) Hooten both of Culleoka; grandchildren, Randy (Rachel) Thompson, Jennifer (Jared) Ring, Ashley (Brandon) McKissack, Stephanie (Chris) Hamm, and Angela Hooten; great grandchildren, Josh (Emily) Taft, Gavin Ring, Katelynn Ring, Brooklyn Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Blakely McKissack, Lawsyn McKissack, Jaden Hamm, and Ryleigh Hamm; two great-great grandchildren, Harrison Taft and Hudson Taft.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Ray Westmoreland, Windell Westmoreland and Paul Westmoreland.
Pallbearers will be Randy Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Josh Taft, Gavin Ring, Jared Ring and Brandon McKissack.
