Jack Whitmore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Phoenix on Mar. 31, 2025.
Jack Whitmore, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in New Jersey and raised in Southern California, Jack eventually made his home in Phoenix, Arizona, where he built a life rooted in service, and love.
A proud Navy veteran who served honorably during the Vietnam conflict, Jack later transitioned into the field of electronic precision test and measurement technology. He was a key contributor to the original 6800 microprocessor team at Motorola, helping shape the future of computing with dedication and brilliance.
Jack was equally passionate about his family and community. He was a devoted husband to Joyce and a loving father to Jason and Julie. He coached youth soccer and little league, sharing his love for sports and instilling lifelong values in young players. He also served as a volunteer at Paradise Valley Community Food Bank where he implemented many changes still in use today. A lifelong learner, Jack earned a bachelor's degree in business and became a certified master gardener, tending not only to his plants but to the lives he touched along the way.
Jack had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and appreciated. His warmth, intelligence, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, children Jason and Julie, two sisters, one brother, and many dear friends.
Jack's memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and inspired. His was a life well lived. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jack, please visit our floral store.
