Jack Coleman Wright passed away on March 2, 2024, at age 83. He was born on April 27, 1940 to the late Edwin and Lorene Wright in Cedartown, Georgia. After 45 years, he retired from Caraustar Industries as a Day Superintendent. Upon retiring, he and his wife, Jackie, traveled to many places including Egypt, Italy, and Turkey. Although he loved traveling, one thing about Jack was that he loved being at home. Throughout many years, he was an avid farmer and sold produce. He always had a garden at home and loved tending to it. Jack's favorite place to be was up in the mountains at Cade's Cove. He loved hunting, trapping, fishing, and spending time with his family in the mountains. Besides being at home and traveling, one of his most favorite things to do was go to church and read and study his Bible. Jack and Jackie went to Youth Baptist Church for 50 years and currently attended Villa Rica First Baptist Church where he was a devoted member of both and loved serving his Lord and Savior alongside his wife. Family was of upmost importance to Jack, and he cherished each of them. He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Wright and Jimmy Wright. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jackie Wright; their two daughters, Gina (Gerry) Pack and Lisa (Mark) Owenby; five grandchildren, Christopher Owenby, Adam Owenby, Sarah Pack, John Paul Pack, Brittany (Chad) Norton; seven great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Ben, Annabella, Addie, Tyler, Bryan; his brothers, Robert Wright, Ben Wright; sister, Laura Merritt; and several nieces and nephews.
