Jackie Heyman ( Cecil J. Heyman) 94, died January 24, 2025, at the Silvergate Memory Care Center in San Marcos, CA. A native of New York, she was born in Brooklyn, NY, March 14, 1930, to Mildred Cohen (nee Lichtblau), and Soloman Cohen.
She and her beloved husband, Paul D. Heyman, were long-time residents of Providence, RI. She was preceded in death by Paul, who died in 2015 in Sarasota, FL, where they had retired. They were married for more than 66 years.
Jackie is survived by their children, Jo Ann Greenberg of Oceanside, CA, Hope Heyman of White Plains, NY (Marc Wantuch) and Robert Kaplan (Kim Sabo) of Chicago. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Scott Greenberg and Kelly Greenberg Cannon (Nick Cannon) both of Oceanside, CA and Sarah Kaplan; as well as her great grandchildren, Jolee Cannon and Felicity Cannon, and her beloved sister-in-law Professor Eliane Norman, and her niece Daniele Norman (David Seitz) and nephew Elliot Norman (Jeanne Norman)
Always a talented artist with a keen sense of color and design, she graduated from Forest Hills High School before attending the Pratt Institute School of Art, majoring in painting and fine arts. She left art school to marry Paul. They were married in Austin, TX where Paul was earning a law degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Jackie later became a licensed interior decorator.
Paul and Jackie settled in Providence, RI. They lived a happy and successful life in Providence with their children. Jackie continued painting, studying with such noted local Rhode Island artists as Herman Itchkawich and Antonio Dattorro.
She is remembered as talented, beautiful, intelligent, and glamorous, deeply loving, with an incredible sense of style and design. Her homes in Providence, RI and Sarasota, FL were showcases and were also warm and intimate.
We remember her as a devoted mother and loving grandmother and miss her terribly. She taught us to love deeply.
