Jackie Hunt II

Jackie Hunt II, 55, of Peoria, passed away, surrounded by family, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at his home. He was born in Peoria on November 21, 1969, to Jackie D. "Jack" and Bonnie (Simpson) Hunt. He married Stephanie "Nicki" Gluck on May 6, 2017, in Peoria; she survives.
Also surviving are his son, Jackie "J.D." Hunt, III (Jessica Burns) of Creve Coeur; his daughter, Courtney Hunt of Peoria; his parents, Jack and Bonnie Hunt of Chillicothe; sister, Lori (Cathy Barr) Bollinger of Fallon, NV; and two grandchildren, Jackie "Jay" Hunt IV and Delilah Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and two daughters, Jasmine and Jade.
Jackie graduated from IVC High School Class of 1988, then joined the Marines in 1991. In his 8 years with the Marines, he proudly served many tours overseas including a recovery mission in Bosnia as a sergeant. He later worked in security at Caterpillar, then retired as a federal prison guard in Pekin.
Jackie was a self-taught guitarist and enjoyed motorcycles and golf. He especially loved camping, fishing, and being outdoors.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial, with full military rites, will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
