Jackie "Jack" Armon Kicklighter, age 64, passed away January 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice, his sister and daughter. He was born on March 18, 1958, in Claxton to Armon J. and Betty Nell Brannen Kicklighter, who both preceded him in death. During his early years he was employed in the construction industry as a commercial insulator which took him all over the United States for work. After the events of September 11th, he volunteered to utilize his skills to help rebuild the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Later in life, his love of the ocean inspired him to purchase a shrimp boat "Rambler" and start his own business. Affectionally known as "Captain Jack". This allowed him to live by the motto, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." He was known for his outgoing personality and ability to never meet a stranger. He loved being with friends, listening to music, cookouts and making people laugh. He will always be remembered for how much he loved life and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary "Meg" Kicklighter and brother John Ed Kicklighter.
He is survived by his daughter K'Trina (Tracy) Rapp of Glennville, GA
Son Sean (Donna) Harris of Tennessee
Sister, Lynn (Tommy) Driskell of Claxton
Brothers, Trent (Tracey) Kicklighter of Townsend, Rex (Marie) Kicklighter of Glennville
Grandchildren, Reagan Dean, Jonas Geiger-Rapp, Racheal Harris
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will be private at a later date.
