Jackie L. "Jack" Bohn, 80, of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at 11:05 P.M. at Lima Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio. Born September 3, 1932 in Anderson, Indiana, he was the son of the late Paul Bohn and the late Ruby (Flickinger) Bohn. Jack married Mary V. Thines on February 14, 1953 in Lima, Ohio. She survives in Lima. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He retired from Chrysler Corp. He was a life member of the VFW Post #1275-Lima; and was an ice hockey referee for many years and also a baseball and softball umpire for many years. Jack was always willing to give his friends and neighbors a helping hand when they needed it. Jack has requested that when you attend his funeral "you should all come in jeans." Surviving are: a son, Scott E. Bohn of Columbus, OH; three daughters, Beverly Allen-Schidecker of Tipp City, OH, Tamara (Steven) Steed of Lima, OH and Felicia (Steve) Jenkins of Urbana, OH; ten grandchildren, Amanda Allen, Christopher Allen, Michelle (Scott) Mayfield, Jessica Radebaugh, Joseph Radebaugh, Jake Steed, Shawn (Keesha) Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Kyle (Jenny) Jenkins, Hilary (Isaac) Perry; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jay A. Bohn; and a grandson, Joshua Allen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Father Mike Houston officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH. Graveside Military service will be conducted by VFW Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lima Manor, 750 Brower Rd., Lima, OH 45801.
