Cynthiana, Kentucky - It is with great sadness that the family of Jackie Lindsey Mitchell announces his passing at 72 years of age on Monday, December 29, 2025. He passed from complications of Parkinsons Disease at the Franklin Sousely Campus VA Hospice Cottage. His loving wife, Candie of 39 and a half years was with him when he passed.

Jackie's parents both preceded him in death. His mother, Juanita Price Whalen and his father, Calvin Philip Mitchell. Also two half -brothers, Philip Mitchell, Jr. and Calvin Paul Hasgall (Liz Hasgall), and his older sister, Mary Hasgall all preceded him in death. Surviving are Sheila Mitchell Green, his half sister and her daughter, Shereen O'Donel(Justin O'Donel). He has another niece, Katrina Hasgall Wise, and nephew Scott Hasgall.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Candace McCauley Mitchell, Stephanie Jones Whitson (Eric Whitson), Michael Jones, and Autumn Reese Jones (Misty Jones). Grandsons, Shaun Michael and Stephen McCauley Jones. On his mother's side of the Price family he has several cousins.

Jackie was in the last graduating class of the old Henry Clay High School in 1970. He continued a higher education by attending and completing a 2-year certification in drafting at Bluegrass Vocational School.

He purchased a newspaper with the birth dates chosen for the last draft for Vietnam. He was extremely shocked when his birthdate was number 16! After checking out what each service option had to offer; he decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He served 4 years and enjoyed his time in the military.

After his Honorary discharge, he came home to Lexington to begin his career. He was hired as a cartographer by GRW Aerial Surveys. The company was sold and renamed Photo Science, and it was sold again and renamed, Quantum Spacial. When the company became Photo Science, he was promoted to Project Manager. Serving in that position until he retired at the age of 62. Jack was a very detailed oriented person, a perfectionist, and easy to get along with so all his qualities matched up well with his professional accomplishments.

Jackie was a member of the First Methodist Church in Cynthiana, KY, where he was a Sunday School teacher for 26 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors. Fishing, white-water rafting, swimming, and canoeing were activities he enjoyed in his free time and with his family.
