Jackie Donald Rhodus, 70, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his residence.
He was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on December 23, 1954 to Leo Kenneth and Hallie Virginia (Green) Rhodus. Jack was a 1972 graduate of Garrad County High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for more than six years and continued his commitment through six additional years with the National Guard. A dedicated Master Mason of Lodge #104 F&AM, Jack valued the brotherhood and service it represented. He worked faithfully for twenty years at the Okonite Company, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and steady presence.
He is survived by his wife, Maze (Brinson) Rhodus; his children, Samuel Leo & (Carrie) Rhodus of Florida, Jeremy Hadden & (Kristie) Rhodus of Georgetown, Christopher Ryan Rhodus of Georgia, and Nicholas Martin & (Becky) Rhodus of Danville; his step-children, Mindy & (Jerry) Miller of Burnside, Jenny Cook & (Eddie McQueary) of Burnside, and Doug & (Jennifer) Bray of Strunk, KY; his brother, Dr. Nelson Leo Rhodus of St. Paul, Minesota; his sister, Rebecca Sue Rhodus of Lexington, KY; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his previous wife, Suzanne Hadden of Lexington, KY; a special friend, Ted Tolar; and his special pet companion, Juliet.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Wendall Green Rhodus; and a grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Hawk and Dr. Nelson Leo Rhodus officiating.
Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time for services.
Military Honors will be performed by the Patriot Guard Riders of KY and The American Legion Post #38.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy to take form in donations to God's Helping Hands.
