Jackie “Jack” Roy Shumpert, 62, of Kingston Springs left this earth peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, with his dog by his side. He was selfless, known for being “a light,” a great friend, and a mischief maker. He eagerly pursued a relationship with the Lord and enjoyed time with his family.
Jack was born in February 1961 in South Carolina, to Patricia Ruth (Livingston) and Roy Cardell Shumpert. He moved to Tennessee and became an employee of Yellow Freight, working hard (or, to those who knew him, hardly working) for 37 years.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and his mother. He leaves behind his wife Vikki; daughters Crystal (Dallas) Hamlin and Jessica (Austin) Levine; sister Julie (James) Cathey; brother Jerry (Lisa) Shumpert; nephews and nieces including Amanda (James) Wells, Angela (Michael) Temple, Kimberly (Brandon) Wilson, Allen (Kelsey) Shumpert, Annie (Matthew) Groves, James Roy Cathey, and two granddaughters Della and Sarah.
To remember and celebrate the life of Jack, please join us for a memorial service at West Harpeth Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28 at 2pm. Visitation will be held from 10am to 2pm
