Jackie always had a smile for you when visiting.
Such pretty teeth too. When we were growing up in Nelson County he showed my sisters & me some simple signs for communicating in sign language.

Doris Leslie .... My sympathies to his family.

Our condolence to Kirby and family. So sorry to hear about Jackie passing away. He was such a good man and friend to my family. My Son worked with Jackie at Wolf and became friends with Scott and Scott's family. we became friends with both Jackie and Kirby. Jackie and Kirby were so sweet together. They took care of each other. Jackie told me that Kirby was a good cook and that he loved her so much. They were always signing "I love you" to each other. My family will miss Jackie. To Kirby, if you need anything we are just a few blocks and a phone call away. Much love for both of you.

Jackie was my brother and nothing can ever change that or remove the fond memories we shared together during my childhood. I know you worked very hard and being deaf everyday was a struggle but you always came through. Our mother often grieved for your lot in life but rejoiced in your successes. Not everyone can be "All American" football players. Your death touches me deeply and I will always concentrate on the positive in our lives. We didn't always get along but how many brothers do. I was only your half-brother but Mom raised us to love one another as whole siblings. Sorry I never met you Kirby but glad you were there for my brother. Sandy and Randy I am sorry for your loss but like I honor my brother I honor your achievements also. Hope all off you and yours will continue to be blessed with God's abundance and pray my brothers Jackie, Junie and Gerald are with little Flossie Fryrear Sorrell Carter (Mom) in heaven. I also pray Elizabeth is rejoicing to be with Jackie.
