Jack was born to Erma L. (Shaw) and Alfred Allen Tennis in Terra Haute, IN and raised with his sister Carol Sue Brady, who have all predeceased him.
Jack was a hard working student who, after graduating high school, chose to serve his country in the United States Air Force. After serving with honor, he began work as an air traffic controller where he tirelessly ensured the safety of thousands of people each day. After leaving the FAA, he went on to work for Lyon Metal where he later retired.
Jack would eventually meet Dorothy "Dory" Marie Secor, fall in love, and marry on March 23rd, 1974.
Together they raised three wonderful children.
Jack is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his children Jeanne Tennis, Michael (Melinda) Tennis, Jason (Jennie) Tennis and his five grandchildren; Bradley (Cheryl), Bailey, Katie, Nicholas, and Jackson.
Jack will be remembered as a patient, loving man who could always be found reading and whose presence will be greatly missed.
Jack will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
