JACLYN A. "JACKIE" LETSCHE, 85, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Visitation with the family present will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Father Dan Rupp will officiate. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.
Jackie was born on July 16, 1939 to George and Lois (Bork) Briggs at Cherokee, Iowa. She attended Marcus Schools, graduating in 1957. She was united in marriage to George Garvin on July 26, 1958, together they had three children, JoAnn, Jerri, and Jeff. She was later married to Charlie Letsche on July 9, 2003.
Jackie was self-employed until 1999, owning Spruce Upholstery. She also worked for Hy-Vee Distribution Center in the receiving office until her retirement in 2004. She was a carving instructor in Casa Grande, Arizona, where they spent their winters.
She was a member of the Cherokee Carving Club and Sioux City Carving Club.
In her free time, she enjoyed wood carving, wood burning, and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers George J. Briggs and Steve Briggs.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Charlie Letsche of Cherokee, Iowa; children Jerri (Steve) Corken of Cherokee, Iowa, Jeff (Lauri) Garvin of Cherokee, Iowa, JoAnn (Mitch) Baker of Post Falls, Idaho; stepchildren, Mike (Ann) Letsche of Cherokee, Iowa, Steve (Becky) Letsche of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kim (Dan) Harper of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tom (Amy) Letsche of Cherokee, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one brother Bud Briggs of Calumet, Iowa.
