BURLESON - Jacob Lamar Combs, June 10, 2002, to May 11, 2023, Fort Worth, Texas.
Jacob Combs passed away on May 11, 2023, surrounded by family and friends who loved him deeply.
Funeral services: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Mount Olivet Chapel in the Sandburg Suite.
In life, Jacob was a considerate, thoughtful son and grandson, loyal friend, and caring brother, looked up to as a hero by his siblings. In his passing, countless others will now benefit from his heroism. Jacob made the decision to be an organ donor, and because of his selflessness and generosity, he has given the gift of life and hope to families in need.
Jacob was born in Fort Worth and grew up enjoying the outdoors. He loved taking his kayak and fishing rod to explore the creeks and streams surrounding his family's home near Burleson. Jacob shared his love of fishing with his sister Elaina, and they were frequent fishing buddies. At home, Jacob and his brother Adrian could often be found hanging out together, laughing, and playing video games. Jacob's roommate was his cherished dog, Duke, and Jacob's peaceful presence was felt in Duke's calm disposition. Jacob also enjoyed playing both of his guitars, an acoustic one and an electric guitar. A talented artist, Jacob began drawing in school, and he continued creating art after graduating from Legacy High School in Mansfield in 2019. Jacob put his best efforts into everything he did, and his strong work ethic continued with his job working in drilling at CoreCo USA. Jacob was a gentle soul with a kind heart, and he will forever be dearly missed and loved by all those who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Derek Lamar "Peepaw" Combs.
Survivors: his mom, Stacie Gonzales, and biological mom, Tiffany Combs; siblings, Anthony Gonzales and wife, Brittani, Elisa Gonzales, Adrian Combs, Elaina Combs, and Damian Combs; grandmother, DeLynn "Meemaw" Combs; grandparents, Danny and Cathy Frank; uncles, Christopher Combs, Brian Shaw and wife, Amy; lifelong best friend and brother, Presley Smith; bonus siblings, Tony Sanchez, Joseph "JC" Cardone, and Hannah Stevens; and many other beloved relatives and close friends.
