Jacob Daniel Fjestad

Jacob Daniel Fjestad, 27, of Grand Forks ND died Saturday, May 17, 2025 at his home from alcohol poisoning.
Jacob was born September 25, 1997 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Daniel Fjestad and Jennifer Miner. He grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School in 2016. He worked his entire life in food service which included KFC, Burger Time, Wendys and Skies 322.
Jake was a gamer, through and through. Ever since he was old enough to hold that first Nintendo controller, it became his passion. He would spend hours playing and talking with friends from across town to literally across the world. Jacob loved his music. Green Day was on the top of his list. His best friend and kindred spirit was his brother Jaden. Where there was one, there was the other. It would be hard to find a picture of Jake without Jaden smiling right next to him. And then there was his beloved cat, Peep. Jacob was a big hugger. Telling someone, "I love you" came easy for him. Every conversation with Jacob would end with "I love you!" Words described by his closest friends and family are: happy, caring, sweet, selfless, soft spoken, goofy, kind-hearted, and willing. Jacob left us way too young. He is going to be deeply missed. Our peace is to know Jesus was waiting for him with a big hug and an "I love you" of his own.
He is survived by his father Dan (Sherry) Fjestad of East Grand Forks, mother Jennifer Johnson of Grand Forks, ND, siblings, Johnny Fjestad, Cole (Leah) Hodny, Mariah McWalter, and Stella Fjestad, all of East Grand Forks, MN, Jaden Fjestad, Abby (Cooper) Jerome, and Mikaela Johnson all of Grand Forks, ND, grandparents, Kathleen LaBatte of Bemidji, MN, Avis Fjestad, Katheryn Steenerson both of Grand Forks and Sandy Estad of Cavalier, ND, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins, and his beloved cat "Peep." He is preceded in death by grandparents, Theodore Miner Sr, Leon Fjestad, David Estad and Don Steenerson, step father Jon Johnson and uncle Rob Vakoc.
"In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Humane Society in memory of Jacob's love for animals" or a charity of your choice.
