Jacob H. "Zeke Jake" Gingerich Sr.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jacob (Zeke) Gingerich, Sr. at the age of 70.
Jake was born March 7, 1955 in Dover, Delaware to the late Henry and Gertie (Miller) Gingerich.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother John "John Boy" Gingerich.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Diane "Boots" Gingerich; son, Jacob "Jakey" Gingerich and his fiancé Jo Ann DiDonato; his brothers, Enos and his wife Frances, David and his wife Connie and Willis "Pic" and his wife Rhonda; sister, RuthAnn Horsey and her husband Rick; sister-in-law, Barb Forrest; brother-in-law, Tom Seward and his wife Sandy; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog and sidekick Lil Rosco who was with him 24-7.
Jake was the backbone of his family and had a heart of gold. If you were ever in need, he was there no matter what. He would give you the shirt off his back, if needed.
He was not one to sit still, he worked hard, had to be doing something. If you needed something done he was your guy.
Jake worked in construction as an equipment operator, did mechanical work and was into farming big time, he worked on a farm for 38 plus years. after retiring he went back to farming part-time with a very good friend Chuckie, Jr., even some of his last words were "we gotta get the beans done". Being outside was his happy place.
He was a member of the Silverlake Fishing Club and was President for the last 10 years to present.
Jake will be missed by all who knew him.
This is not goodbye but see you later.
Gone from our sight but not from our heart.
