Mr. Jacob "The Dirt Man" Heer

Jacob (Jake) Heer, AKA 'The Dirt Man', passed away on September 27, 2019 due to complications from a recent accidental fall. Jake lived most of his life in Oswego County, New York. He was in The Air Force Reserve, worked at NESTLES and was co-owner of Oswego Artic (snowmobile) Sales and Service, and later the sole proprietor of Heer's Excavating and Water Service. He retired from the Town of Volney Highway Department in Volney, New York and then moved to Oceanside, California. Mr. Heer was an avid outdoorsman; in his early years spent most of his time gardening, fishing, hunting, and exploring the countryside via motorcycle, snowmobile or the old pick up truck. He is preceded by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ida May Heer, but he leaves behind their daughters: Denise White and her husband Mark, Terri Goutermout, Diane Williams and her husband Robert, and Merry Riebau and her husband Walter, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and his brother, Samuel Heer. He is also preceded by his grandson Jacob Riebau and son-in-law Robert Goutermout. A remembrance service for Mr. Heer will be held in Fulton, New York followed by a graveside ceremony at Roosevelt Cemetery. Date and time to be determined.
