Mr. Jacob F. Herty Jr.

Jacob F. Herty, Jr., age 86, died on Saturday, August 21, 2010. Loving husband of the late Elsie Gauthreaux Herty. Father of Jacob F. Herty III, and Kenneth R. Herty (husband of Susy). Proud Grandfather of Billy and Laura Herty. Son of the late Theresa Stiebing Herty and Jacob F. Herty, Sr. Brother of Floyd W. Herty, Sr. and the late Earl Herty and Theresa H. Daigle. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Herty retired from the New Orleans Fire Department after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM followed by a Catholic Funeral service in the funeral home Chapel. Interment in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Alzhiemer’s Association, 2405 River Road, Jefferson, LA. 70121 in memory of Jacob F. Herty, Jr. will be appreciated.
