Jacob Michael Moreno Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Santa Rosa on December 11, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born on February 20, 1944, in Sells to Mary V. Pablo and Chico Moreno.
Jacob was a man of many passions. He cherished the time spent traveling, fishing, and visiting casinos. In his youth, he enjoyed playing football and baseball, and proudly served as a ticket handler at various sports events, being a devoted fan of the Broncos. Throughout his career, he took great pride in his work in the printing industry.
More than anything, Jacob treasured family gatherings and held his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, close to his heart.
Jacob is survived by his beloved wife, Valora J. Moreno; one daughter, Cathy Burgess; and four siblings: Phyllis Ramon, Lucy Carlos, Hubert Moreno, and Bernadine Moreno. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Gladys Moreno, Austin Charles Moreno, Cyrus Moreno Sr., and Robert Moreno.
Services in remembrance of Jacob will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Mt. View Chapel, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by burial at South Santa Rosa Cemetery on the Tohono O'odham Nation.
