Jacob "Jack" Shubat, 85, Oak Park, Illinois, husband of the late Shirley (Fry) Shubat, died July 25, 2025. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana.

We had enjoyable times with Jack and Shirley. Besides knowing him as a sailor and spending time togetherwith them at "Boat Diners" gatherings, we enjoyed plays at the 16th Street Theatre in Berwyn and had meals together. Jack made wonderful pies! He will be missed so much. A wonderful man.

He was always a blast to work with at Monroe Harbor Tender, back in the good old days when the job was fun. Captain Jack... you will be missed. Fair winds and calm seas.

It was always a joy to sail and work with Jack on Priorities and the other boats of Sail Chicago. He will certainly be missed by his crew mates.
