Jacob Harris Whiteman, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. Born on May 16, 1952, in Frostburg, Maryland, Jacob was a loving son to James and Viola Whiteman and a cherished father to his daughters, Amber Mason and Korie Whiteman.
Jacob dedicated his life to his family and his work as a telephone repairman, where he was known for his reliability and commitment to his craft. An avid woodworker, Jacob poured his heart into creating beautiful and unique pieces of furniture, leaving behind a legacy of fine craftsmanship that will be treasured by generations to come.
Jacob took great pride in his family, who survive him: his beloved daughters, Amber and Korie; his grandchildren, Cameron, Morgan, and Aric Mason; and his great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Riley. He also leaves behind his sister, Jean Durst. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Helene Ghelber Whiteman and brothers, James and Thomas Whiteman.
Jacob Whiteman will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
