Jacob Dryden Wight (1977–2025)

Jacob was a loving father, partner, brother, and son. From the start of his life, Jacob was an answer to a prayer, and continued to be. He was born in Eugene, Oregon and was lovingly welcomed by his parents Dwayne and Debbie into their home as their long sought after first child. Dwayne and Debbie were told that he would be deaf his entire life. However, after the miracle brought through a priesthood blessing, he never had any trouble hearing.

As a child Jacob always sought to be a friend to others. He was often found having wandered down the street making new friends. His loyal personality made him protective of his younger siblings and he always watched out for them. He spent his younger years in Baker, Oregon and Yelm, Washington before the family moved to Korea where his father was stationed for the Military. At age 16, the family moved to Columbus, GA where he attended Jordan High School and obtained his GED.

After graduation, Jacob moved to Orem, Utah where he attended UVU. At this time, he met his former spouse, Lila, and had three children Tasha, Mahealani, and Israel. He later met his second wife Stephanie and had four children, Maile, Ivan, Tyson and Tane. His youngest son, Noah was born in Mendon, UT. Over the years Jacob worked many different jobs with one common theme, helping people. He always enjoyed having the opportunity to serve others. He spent a portion of his career as a tow truck driver which he loved and always had interesting stories to tell.

Jacob was preceded in death by his father Dwayne Wight, and is survived by Mother Debra Plagmann, Brothers Spencer and Lewis Wight, Sister Aleah Beck, Partner Stephanie Jacobson, and kids Tasha, Mahealani, Israel, Maile, Ivan, Tyson, Tane, and Noah.

A funeral service for Jacob will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Mendon LDS Meeting House, 20 N 100 W, Mendon, Utah.  The interment will be at the Mendon City Cemetery.
