Jacobi Chandler Bursey, born on January 29, 2002, made an everlasting impact on the lives he touched before his passing on January 1, 2025. He was a beloved son to his father, Adam, and was also embraced by his mother, Shatori, his bonus mom, Shemekia, and his bonus dad, Alonzo. His loving family extended to include brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will remember him fondly.
Jacobi was known for his goofy and playful nature, which endeared him to all who knew him. He embraced life with a chill and passionate spirit, demonstrating a unique combination of shyness and respectfulness that made him a truly special individual. His love for family and friends shined brightly in every interaction, and he cherished the moments spent hanging out and enjoying shared activities. An avid sports enthusiast, Jacobi had a particular passion for football and delighted in participating in trail rides. His playful demeanor was perfectly complemented by his love for video games, where he found joy in both competition and collaboration with friends.
In addition to his vibrant personality, Jacobi served as a dedicated caretaker for his grandmother before her passing, showcasing his compassionate nature and deep respect for family. His commitment to those he loved resonates deeply, leaving behind warm memories that will be forever cherished.
His visitation services will be held on January 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The funeral service will take place on January 18, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4791 South Buckner Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75227.
Jacobi Chandler Bursey will be remembered not just for the joy he brought into the lives of many, but also for his unwavering dedication to family. His legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
