Jacquelin Yvonne Thomas

Jacquelin "Jackie" Yvonne Oldham Thomas passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Western Missouri Medical Center.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 29, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. She worked for the Veterans Administration in Cincinnati, Ohio prior to joining the Department of State Foreign Services in 1952. She worked at the American Embassy in San Salvador, El Salvador, C.A. until 1955, when she went to the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia as the Assistant Personnel Director. At the Embassy in Moscow, she met and married Robert S. Thomas in a ceremony at the Moscow Baptist Church in April 1956. Robert was with the Army Attache Office at the American Embassy. Jacquelin and Robert were married 55 years until his death in 2011.
Jacquelin and their two children (Sandra Schoffstall and Robert Thomas, Jr.) travelled to Manila, Philippines; Helsinki, Finland; and Tehran, Iran where Robert was assigned to the American Embassies with the Defense Intelligence Agency. While in Finland, Jacquelin worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency as secretary to the Army Attache Office and later as the finance clerk. The family moved to Warrensburg, Missouri when Mr. Thomas retired from the Army in 1971.
She is survived by her daughter: Sandra Schoffstall of Grandview, Missouri; son: Dr. Robert Thomas, Jr. (Jackie) of Winter Haven, Florida; grandsons: MAJ Adam Schoffstall (Grace); GySgt Benjamin Schoffstall (Megan); Jordan Schoffstall (Kassie); Matthew Thomas; Jarod Thomas; great grandchildren: Annabelle; Asher; Naomi; Desmond; Jude; Sawyer; brother: Gary Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; two sisters and a brother.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Grover Park Baptist Church in Warrensburg, Missouri with Rev. Dr. Randy Neal officiating. Pallbearers will be MAJ Adam Schoffstall, GySgt Benjamin Schoffstall, Jordan Schoffstall, Bob Lotspeich, Phil Woodard, and Phil Shreves.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the church, one hour prior to service.
Interment is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grover Park New Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
