Jacqueline Marie Bethea, affectionately known as "Jakki ", was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Hattie Mae Bethea, Sr. and the youngest of their five children, all of whom preceded her in death. Jakki was born on December 10, 1946, in
Trenton, New Jersey, she was baptized in the Galilee Baptist Church of Trenton, N.J.
Jakki received her primary education in Lawrenceville, N.J and graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1966. After High School Jakki attended Business School for one year and was later hired by the State of New Jersey and worked in various positions. After a successful career, she retired after 40 years of service. Jakki came from an entrepreneurial family and had shared business ventures with her late brother Joseph with whom she had a very close bond.
Jakki was a faithful and loving daughter who cared for their mom until her passing. Jakki enjoyed cooking, talking to her friends and family, and working in her homes. She enjoyed staying in touch with friends and family near and far was always leaving a word or scripture for all to ponder. Jakki was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart.
Our beloved Jakki leaves to mourn 11 nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family appreciates all the calls, notes and prayers for our family during this time. Your continued thoughts and prayers are welcome as the family continues to grieve the loss of our dear Jakki. We will miss her vibrant spirit, her sharp sense of humor, her smile and encouragement.
Though she is gone, her legacy of love, laughter and faith lives on in all of us. We know that although she is absent from her earthly body, she is present with our Lord. Rest well Jakki, we love you and miss you dearly.
