Jacqueline Joyce Brooks

Jacqueline Joyce Brooks, lovingly known as "Jackie," of Fallbrook, California, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Palomar Medical Center. She was 87 years old.

Born in 1938, Jackie lived a life defined by devotion to family, faith, perseverance, and enduring love. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Willard Dean Brooks. Together they shared 49 years of happy marriage and true partnership in every sense of the word.

Side by side, Jackie and Dean built an insurance agency together, working diligently and faithfully to grow their business in Kansas City for 30 years. In 1986, they moved to Fallbrook, California, where they began a second business, continuing their shared vision, work ethic, and commitment to serving others. Their life together was marked not only by love, but by teamwork, resilience, and dedication.

Jackie was a sweet woman with a warm and gentle smile that put others at ease. She loved her church family and cherished her many friendships. Her life reflected kindness, humility, and quiet strength.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard Dean Brooks, and her parents, Albert and Adrienne Hess.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Julie Thomas (Derek) and Sherry Straeter (Tom). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Tyler Straeter (Alyssa), Luke Thomas (Lilliana), Kyle Straeter, Joel Thomas, Brooke Fleming (Shane), and Andrew Thomas and a great-grandmother to Dean William Thomas. Her legacy lives on through each of them in the values she instilled and the love she so generously gave.

Jackie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast devotion to her family, and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. Her home was a place of welcome, and her life was a testament to faithfulness-in marriage, in work, and in love.

A memorial service will be held on March 27 at Sonrise Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook Ca.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sonrise Christian Fellowship, Deacons' Fund.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
