Jaqueline Kay Foote, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 27 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held at Cedar Valley Bible Church in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, September 4th, at 11:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM. Cedar Memorial Funeral Park Home is assisting the family.
Jacqueline was born in 1938 to Durward and Elaine (Gager) Baade. She was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She attended high school in Monona, Iowa and West Union, Iowa. She married Gary Foote in 1962 at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. They were married 25 years until Gary's death in 1987.
Jackie attended Iowa Teachers College (UNI). Jackie served as a flight attendant for Northwest and Eastern Airlines. She also worked for the Linn-Mar school district, Collins Credit Union, McLeodUSA, and Younkers.
Jackie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, hosting holidays and birthday celebrations. Jackie avidly cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes with her family and friends. She had a special group of friends that played bridge together. Jackie traveled to dozens of countries all over the world, many with friend Larry Miller.
Left to honor her memory are her children, Craig (Dawn) Foote, and Rodd Foote; grandchildren, Emily Foote, Jackson (Kathryn) Foote and Ryan Foote, all of Cedar Rapids. She will be greatly missed by siblings, Karen (Roger) Thies, Patricia Huepher, and Ronald (Marsha) Baade. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Michelle (Dean) Nava, Kristine (Christopher) Mitchell, Jennifer Roeder, Stephanie Otten, Jeff (Elizabeth) Thies and Brian Foote.
Memorials may be directed to Unity Point/St.Luke's Hospice.
