Jacqueline Hadden Obituary

Jacqueline Jane Hadden
Jacksonville - Jacqueline Jane Hadden, 78, of Jacksonville, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home in Jacksonville. She was born September 27, 1946, in Carrollton, the daughter of Richard Samuel and Lila Mabel McDaniels Hopkins. She married Charles Burton "C.B" Hadden on September 29, 1968, and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2008.
Jane is survived by two daughters, Angela (Daniel) Hadden Lindley and Jennifer (Brian) Hadden Moore, both of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, JD Lindley and Kirsten (fiancé Jordan Snyder) Lindley, three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon, and Clara Snyder, one brother, Dr. Joseph Richard (Abbe) Hopkins of Santa Barbara, California, several nieces and nephews, and adopted granddaughter Allie (Michael) Dolen. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Hopkins.
Jane was raised in Greene County and was a 1964 graduate of North Greene High School, the first class to graduate. She was a graduate of Passavant School of Nursing and later earned her B.S. degree in Child Family Community Services from Sangamon State University. She worked as a registered nurse for many years, first at the Jacksonville State Hospital and later as the head of the newborn nursery at Passavant Hospital. In later years, she worked with JAARC and as a case manager with Prairie Council on Aging. Jane always wanted to be a wife, mother, and nurse, and was proud to have accomplished all three.
Always community minded, Jane was active in the South Jacksonville School PTO while her daughters were students. She was one of the founding members of the Morgan County Fair Auxiliary, and a member of the Jacksonville Theatre Guild, Jacksonville Citizen's Police Academy, and the Morganettes Home Extension. She devoted many hours to the Underground Railroad Committee of the Morgan County Historical Society. Jane was a devout Christian and a member of several churches throughout her lifetime.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Woodlawn Farm or Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

So sorry to hear this. Though I live in Austin, Texas we stayed in close touch - I was "Bro" and she was "Sis". She took wonderful care of my Mom, Delores Thomson, right up until her passing. Jane will be greatly missed.

I met Jane when I worked for the housing authority. I talked her in joining ing the theater guild. She left and said she knew nothing about the theater. I laughed and said you'll learn. We had some fantastic times together
