Jacqueline Bell Smith was born on June 6, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio and was the eldest child of the late John and Georgetta Smith. Jacqueline' had three siblings, brother's Gerald, and Ronald (both preceded her in death) and surviving sister, Gwendolyn.
. Jacqueline nickname, "Jackie" attended Cleveland Public schools and graduated from John Adams High. Jackie held a variety of secretarial positions, worked at the U.S Post Office, was an exceptional typist (100wp.m), a great cook and decorator. Jacqueline bore three children, eldest and only son Joel, (preceded her in death) and daughters Lisa, and Judith. Jacqueline married to David Whitfield for 18-years and after divorce, she married Victor Hardcastle, and both of whom preceded her in death.
Jackie enjoyed many pastimes including spending time with her family and best friends, Alice Goldsby and Judy Lofton (preceded her in death). She enjoyed cooking and decorating, entertaining, hosting parties, playing "Bid Whist," going junking, and shopping. She also enjoyed traveling, going to the Summer Jazz concerts at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, playing her daily numbers and casinos. The family nicknamed her, 'Joan," referring to her witty humorous personality and was known for her 'Diva" class and style.
Jacqueline B. Hardcastle departed from this life on May 12, 2023 @ 7: 59a.m, after being cared for by the staff at Embassy of Euclid and special caregiver and niece (Mary Huggins). She is survived by, Gwendolyn Wright of Youngstown, Ohio, daughters Lisa Baddger (Timothy), Judith Carter (Dane), Columbia, South Carolina, Twelve grandchildren, Sharron, Nicole Cameron (Marcus), Gary Curry (Audra), John Mincy, Rahnee Gordon, Ashley Scott all of Columbia, South Carolina, Jovan Smith (Monique), Paris Smith-Tucker, Ashley Baddger, Marcus Baddger (Krystal), Marcus Dennis, Johnetta Sneed (David), Twenty-three great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, in-laws, loved ones, friends and neighbors.
