Jacqueline "Jackie" Hicks
Wood River, IL - Jacqueline Elaine "Jackie" Hicks, 69, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 in peace as her husband held her hand.
Jackie was born Feb. 23, 1955 in Springfield, Ill. She worked as a nail technician in the area for over 20 years. She was beautiful, full of grace, and had an elegance in her actions. She was so creative and artistic, impressing those around her. She could sing so sweetly that people always wanted to hear more. She was giving and compassionate to those she loved and to those in need. She loved to laugh and joke. Jackie loved God with all of her being, praying daily. She is free, and forever will be.
Jackie will be missed and always remembered by her husband Guy Hicks; children. Rachael Treadway and Garrett Treadway; stepchildren, Lisa Greear (Michael), and Caleb Hicks; grandchildren, Adara James, Quentin Estrada, Sereena Estrada, Kaitlin Greear, Grayson Wildhaber, Jazmyn Cox, and Silas Treadway; her stepmother, Joyce Sebring; siblings, Eugene "Gene" Burris (Barb), Starlynn Sebring Mudd (Mike), Sherri Sebring Imlay (Kevin), Harold E. Sebring, Jr. (Tami) and Orin Sebring; a very special aunt, Thelma Knoles; nieces Tina Baumgartner Mollica, Sarah Halsey Adkison and Rebecca Meyers; nephews Jamey Burris (Audra), Blake Burris, Joshua Meyers, Buchanan "Buck" Sebring (Missy), and Adam Sebring; many great-nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold E. Sebring, Sr.; mother Guyla (Dawdy) Camden; stepmother, Elizabeth "Bettie" Sebring; sister, Vicki Baumgartner; and nephews, Jason Burris and Jake Folder.
A Celebration of Jackie's life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at Abundant Church, 3986 Humbert Road in Alton.
