Jacqueline "Jacky" Covarrubias Obituary
Jacqueline Covarrubias, 46, a long-time Clearfield resident, passed away peacefully at University of Utah Hospital on September 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 21, 1976 in Santa Paula, California, she was the third of four children of Pedro Covarrubias Vasquez and Maria Trinidad Lugo Rodriguez. Jacky was raised and schooled in Santa Maria, graduating from Santa Maria High School Class of 1995.
Primarily she was a homemaker, raising her seven children. For a while she was a Supervising Foreman at a produce cooling facility in Santa Maria, and later, after settling in Utah, she worked for Lifetime and for Amazon as a skilled warehouse worker.
Jacky loved to scrapbook and collect rocks and other shiny things. She was an avid reader, she loved a little bit of every kind of music and was a devoted mother and grandmother who doted on her family. Jacky had a huge heart and was very outgoing. She was a little bossy, but her strong mind and will gave her an edge and she could be counted on to make decisions and get things done. She was protective and fierce when it came to looking out for her own family, especially her children.
Jacky will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew her best and remembered most for her long, beautiful hair and her contagious laughter.
Jacky is survived by her children, Raymond M. (Carina Herrera) Covarrubias, Guadalupe, CA; Jessie B. (Angel Sapien) Covarrubias Wedgeworth, Oxnard, CA; Jasmine N. Covarrubias Wedgeworth, Roy, UT; Damian J. (Norma) Covarrubias, San Diego, CA; Roy A. Duran, Salt Lake City, UT; Alliyah A.Duran, Santa Maria, CA; and Monique L. Duran, Bakersfield, CA; by her mother, Maria T. Covarrubias, Clearfield, UT; siblings, Jose G. (Stephanie) Covarrubias, West Haven, UT; Kathy Covarrubias, Santa Maria, CA; Peter Covarrubias, Santa Paula, CA; by nine grandchildren; several uncles and aunts, and by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro, and by her uncles, Jose and Luis.
Friends may visit with family on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd.
