Obituary of Jacqueline A. LaFaire

Jacqueline A. LaFaire, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 25, 1945, in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Eloise "Dolly" (nee Larus) Towe.

She will be remembered for her quick humor, kindness, witty spirit, and some of her famous meals and dishes she enjoyed making her family and friends. Although she started her career out as a hairdresser, Jacqueline found her faith again and pursued her passion for ministry, returning to school to earn her degree in Theology. Her love of prayer was evident, as she participated in daily prayer chains, lifting others up with devotion and compassion. She cherished her friends and family and treasured lunches whether with family or friends. Jacqueline had a love for Elvis, whose music never failed to bring her joy.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, Scott LaFaire and Stacey (Jeff) Boetto; five grandchildren, Christina, Chucky, Caitlin, Nick, and Andreanna; two great grandchildren; her sister, Mabel Jenson; and her brother, Jimmy DeFrates.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Joey DeFrates; her mother Eloise (Dolly), and two nieces.

Due to her request, cremation rites have been accorded, and services will be held at a later date.
