Jacqueline Nell Allen, age 82, peacefully went to be with her Creator on November 27, 2021. Born and raised in Century, FL, Nell's family moved to Cantonment, FL, after she finished high school. While working at Chemstrand, she met and later married the love of her life, Millard Lee Allen, in August 1959. She stayed home to raise their three young boys, and when the youngest started school, she went back to work as an assistant at East Milton Elementary and then King Middle School, where she retired. After Millard's death in 2001, Nell spent her time with her grandchildren, was an avid Bible reader, and was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She had a strong faith in God and was devoted to her family. Holidays were her favorite time of year and cooking for family was one of her greatest joys. While she enjoyed her life here on earth, she looked forward to being reunited with Millard and her other loved ones, who met her at Heaven's Gate.
She is survived by her three sons: Millard Keith Allen (Theresa), James Randall Allen, and Gregory Scott Allen (Kerrie); her brother David Crawley (Nikki), sister Nancy Hoff (Jim), and sister-in-law Peggy Turman; her beloved grandchildren, Adam Allen, Travis Allen, Brandon Allen, Sydney Allen, Evan Stenerson, Drew Allen, Kendall Allen, and Mason Allen; nieces and nephews, Cyndi Hartzog (Sam), Tammy Shoop (Ron), David Crawley, Patrick Crawley, Jay Hoff (Carolyn), Kelly Hoff Baldwin (Roger), Dana Turman (Melissa), Greg Turman (Delores), Hope Neth (Randall); as well as many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and beloved friends.
Nell is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Laymond Crawley and Bernice Alma Crawley; husband Millard Lee Allen; brothers-in-law Lewis Turman and Ray Carraway; and sister Carole June Carraway.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Trahan Funeral Home in Milton, Florida, followed by her funeral at 11:30 a.m. led by Pastor Curtis. Her grandsons, Adam, Travis, Brandon, Evan, and Mason, will serve as pallbearers, and her granddaughters, Sydney and Kendall, and great nephews, Dylan and Cameron Chalmers, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery. The service will be available live-stream at www.TrahanFamilyFuneralHome.com (click "Webcasting" under her name).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church. The family would like to express their gratitude to nurses Natalie and Jennifer and the many others who took part in her care at Gulf Breeze Hospital.
