Ms. Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Ponton, aged 49, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort.
Born on October 16, 1976, in Northampton County, Jackie was the daughter of Louis Ponton and the late Glenn Boone. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker who dedicated her life to bringing joy to others. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
Jackie gave countless time and years of service at Sonic Drive-In, Farmers Furniture, Century Finance, and Halifax County DSS, where she was known and loved as a hardworking, dependable, and caring person who always went above and beyond.
Jackie's faith was a quiet but steady force in her life. She believed deeply in kindness, compassion, and the power of prayer. She found strength in God's grace and shared that strength with others through her words and actions. Above all else, Jackie's greatest joy and purpose in life was being a mother. Her daughter, Kamiya Massenburg, was the light of her life, her pride, and her very best friend. Their bond was one of unconditional love and laughter, a relationship that continues to live on in spirit and cherished memories.
She also leaves behind her devoted fiancé, Algernon Alston, who stood faithfully by her side and shared in her dreams, laughter, and love.
Jackie is survived by her loving mother, Louis Ponton; her daughter, Kamiya Massenburg; her fiancé, Algernon Alston; and her grandmother, Lillian Boone; two sisters, Glenda Majette and Wandar Ponton; three brothers, Charles Rawles, Garrell Boone, and Michael Boone; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Jackie's life was one of love, laughter, and light, a reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can leave the most powerful legacy.
A visitation for Ms. Jacqueline M. Ponton will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at H.D. Pope Funeral Home, located at 520 Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M.
