Jacquelyn "Jackie" Fenton Weaver, 95, of Springfield, Massachusetts (formerly of Hampden, MA, Somers, CT, and East Longmeadow, MA), was called gently home on Friday evening, December 12, 2025 at her home at Reeds Landing in Springfield, MA, with her daughters at her side. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jackie's life was defined by love, laughter, family, and friendship.
Born on April 23, 1930, Jacquelyn was the only child of loving parents John (1892-1978) and Loretta (Larkin) Fenton (1895-1987) of Springfield, MA. She grew up in a happy home full of love and laughter. She graduated from Dean Junior College in the Medical Secretarial program, and soon after college met the love of her life, Ewart Weaver ("Weave"). They were engaged within 6 weeks and married a year later. They were together for 48 years, until Weave's death in September 2000. Together they raised their three children in East Longmeadow.
Jackie found her greatest joy as a mother to Loretta Weaver Lyons, Judith Weaver Gonyeau, and the late Richard Ewart Weaver. She cherished her role in supporting her children's and grandchildren's achievements and delighted in countless family gatherings at their beloved lakeside home on Otis Reservoir.
Jackie's greatest pride was her family. She cherished her children, celebrated their milestones, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she was a bridge player, counted cross-stitch crafter and sewer, world traveler, and loyal friend whose warmth touched many across generations.
Jackie leaves her loving daughters, Loretta "Lori" (Weaver) Lyons of Belchertown, MA; Judith "Judy" (Weaver) Gonyeau and husband David of Monson, MA; and daughter-in-law Ruth Weaver of Longmeadow, MA. She leaves her grandchildren, Jennifer (Weaver) Dubac and husband Mark of Portland Oregon; Michael Weaver and wife NaYoung of Copenhagen, Denmark; John Weaver and wife Tevin of Longmeadow; and Ethan Weaver and wife Danielle of Broad Brook, CT. She leaves 7 great-grandchildren: Alanna and Zoe Dubac of Portland, OR; Amelia and Richie of Copenhagen, Denmark; and Emery, Logan, and Fiona of Longmeadow, MA. Jacquelyn was predeceased by her loving husband Ewart "Red" Weaver (1928-2000) and son, Richard "Rick" Weaver (1955-2011).
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. A funeral home service will take place at 12 Noon followed by burial in Billings Hill Cemetery, East Longmeadow.
