Jacqulene “Jackie” Wilburn Pilkenton, 92, of Marion, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at Mission Hospital McDowell with her loving family by her side.
She was born in McDowell County on June 7, 1931 to the late Fred Wilburn, Sr. and Katy Arrowood Wilburn.
Jackie, who was affectionately known as Nanny to her family, was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devoted homemaker for most of her life who will also be remembered for her ever-present sweet tooth. She was always willing to share her sweets with her grandchildren. Jackie loved coloring, and she also enjoyed working with flowers and watching butterflies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Arrowood; one daughter, Kathy Arrowood Penland; one grandson, Cody Arrowood; son-in-law, Ronnie Willis; brothers Jim, Logan, Hobart, Paul, George and Fred Wilburn, Jr.; and sisters, Geneva Smith, Sudie Causby, Margaret Causby and Ruby Moore.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Willis and Polly Cable (Junior); one son, Joe Arrowood; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Larry Cable and Jody Gouge officiating. Burial will follow at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Mills. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
