Jacy Mackenzie Chavis, age 26 of McColl, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Scotland County.

Jacy was born August 29, 1999, in Chesterfield County. She was a compassionate, loving person. Jacy loved her family dearly. Austin, her son, Kyson, and bonus baby, Swayze, were her world. She was the best mama. Jacy was also a "mama's girl" and loved being with her mama. She was a good listener and a good talker. Jacy was always the "peacemaker." She was a hard worker who was always looking to better herself in work, life, and at home. Jacy was a beautiful person inside and out. She made a lasting impression on everyone she came across.

Jacy was preceded in death by a brother, Ethan Hunter Chavis; paternal grandmother, Peggy Chavis; maternal grandmother, Helen Creech; and special papa, James Freeman.

Jacy is survived by her loving companion, Austin Shelley of McColl; her son, Kyson Jace Chavis of McColl; bonus daughter, Swayze Shelley of McColl; her parents, Mitchell and Michell Creech Freeman of Bennettsville; a brother, Tyler Bullard (Cherise) of Conway; sisters, Chelsey Covington of Clio, Caitlyn Brigman of McColl, and Maraya Rodriguez of Raeford, NC; paternal grandfather, Lonnie Chavis of Clio; maternal grandfather, Jackie Creech (Eva) of Cheraw; father and mother in love, Mark and Karen Shelley of McColl; a special "meanyah," Natalie McBride of Florence; her best friend, Brittany Zonca of Lexington, SC; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Jacy will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Victory World Outreach Center. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Victory World Outreach Center.
