I´ll always remember how kind Jake was towards everyone no matter what he always made sure that we were doing good, every time we would ask him to hang out he was always down to go out even if we haven´t talked in a while.

I like to apologize to his family for the lost of a very special person to them. I don´t know Jake but Gaines is a family member of mine that I haven´t met yet. Still here to give my condolences, no mother should have to bury a child

I remember when I was first introduced to jake in class 2 years ago by a close friend and we would always make jokes about each other and laughing in class, even to the point where the teachers would have to separate us, it was a great time. He would always run with someone I would run with and I would join them on their running and we would make stops at my house to get water and I would let him in and offer him food and talk about our life a lot and just make fun of each other as jokes and always laugh, the most memorable moments is when we would run together and talk about our life, the people, mess ups and advice to better ourselves and motivate each other. Jake was a great individual and will for sure be missed by all.

Roy would often give water to a friend who would come to the house in the middle of a run. The first time he asked if he could give him water, I said of course. Roy would talk with him outside until I told him he needed to start inviting him in as it was too hot outside. That´s how the family met Jake. Roy started running with Jake, and Santos would join them as well. I remember taking them to practices in the morning, often overhearing their conversations. The boys would talk to Jake, offering advice or encouragement.
I recall days when we would pass Jake running through the neighborhood, and the younger kids would cheer him on, shouting, "Run, Jake! Faster!" We would offer him food if he stayed for dinner, and he was always such a nice and polite kid. We saw you at graduation in the stands, and you shared your plans with us. The memories of those conversations are precious, even though it hurts knowing they won't be fulfilled.
You were such a good person, Jake. I remember when a dog bit you, and you just brushed it off, more worried about the dog than yourself. To this day, I haven't seen that lady or her dog, but I'll keep looking. The last time my daughter and I saw Jake, he was on a run with Santos, around the time Beryl came through. I saw two figures running and knew it was them. I started driving towards them, and Ana asked where I was going. I said I was going to check on the boys. Sure enough, it was Santos and Jake. They told me they had just seen Roy and his dad pass by. I told them to be careful and stay safe. I remember thinking, did Jake dye his hair? We said our goodbyes that day, not knowing it would be the last time we would talk to him.
It hurts that Elijah, who considered you his best friend, is grieving. He told me you were family, and it broke my heart. It´s painful knowing Santos and Roy saw you just 12 hours before. It hurts knowing that every time the boys go on a run, you won´t be there. You were a good friend to the boys, and your presence will be deeply missed.
Jake, you have lots of friends and family who love and miss you. Take care up there. I told Elijah he has an angel flying in the sky. We know you'll be looking down on us.

I met Jake during 7th grade in P.E. We talked with each other and became friends right away. We would play video games and mess around in school together with our other friends and have a lot fun. Jake was funny and would make me laugh even with the silliest joke, and he was brave, whenever we would go somewhere to explore places, he would lead in the front and wasn´t scared of anything. He cared a lot about his friends and was selfless and caring to those around him. I have a lot of special moments with Jake, having known him since middle school, and I did a lot of things with him. Everywhere we go, we´d go together along with our friends. We were all close are like family. I have a lot of special moments with Jake, like when we tried out for the soccer team together, when we played for our Sunday league team Katy FC, when we did a presentation together at school, when we would go explore places together, when we went to prom with each other in matching blue suits, when we went fishing, and so much more. My favorite memory of Jake is when we swam in the lake together with each other when we went fishing with our friends.

I remember when Jake came to the house and he was going to go run and we were in the backyard. I said hey Jake and I gave him a hand shake and I was playing basketball with Roy. Jake was on his phone and after I was talking to him. He went running and I was happy to see him because I considered him family.

Jake has always been there for me. When I was learning how to cut hair Jake was always there to let me practice on him every week even when I had a trash bag as my barber cape. We always had something to talk about and laugh about . I would always call Jake and ask him he wanted to run with me and he would always say yes . And we would just run for miles and track it on our phones so we can stay in shape . Even on days he didn´t feel good to run , he would bike with me while I run.

My very first memory of Jake was in 3rd grade , we would play geometry dash on the iPads instead of doing istation.
