Jakele Marquis Jakes, Sr., departed this life on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Helena Hospital in Helena, Arkansas.

Born on January 22, 1988, in West Helena, Arkansas, Jakele was the beloved son of Karen Jones and Arthur Bobo. From an early age, he embraced his faith, accepting Christ as his personal Savior. He received his education within the Helena-West Helena School District. Jakele also spent a significant period residing in Seattle, Washington under the loving care of his aunt, Dannie Jakes. Throughout his life, he was characterized by his strong work ethic, his dedication to providing for his family, and his genuine desire to assist others.

Jakele was preceded in death by several beloved family members, including his son, Jakele Jakes Jr.; his daughter, Makenzie Jakes; his mother, Karen Jones; his father figures, Lawrence Tyler, Sr. and Nathaniel Jones; his brother, Travon Tyler; his maternal grandparents, Cornelius Jakes, Sr. and Christine Golden Jakes; his paternal grandfather, Clyde Bobo, Sr.; his aunt, Marvie Davis; his uncle, Norvell Golden Sr.; and a special family friend, Eugene "Catdaddy" Johnson.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his father, Arthur Bobo, and his paternal grandmother, Bernice Bobo. He is also survived by his long-term girlfriend, Bianca Bowman; his five sons, Maurico Ransom, Christian Jakes, Kayleb Jakes, Artavious Jefferson, Amiere Carter; and his daughter, Malaysia Jakes. Jakele's memory will be honored by his sisters, Brianna Donaby (Charles) and Kianna Jakes (Michael), both of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas; and his brothers, Daishun Tyler (Lillian) of Seattle, Washington, and Lawrence Tyler (Nakita) of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. He is further survived by three nieces, twelve nephews, a special aunt, Dannie Jakes; his special cousin, Marquette Scoggins of West Helena, Arkansas; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends whose lives he touched.
