With profound sadness and submission to the will of Allah. We announce the passing of Jamal Abdul Rahman Anderson, who returned to his Creator on March 3, 2026.
Jamal Abdul Rahman Anderson, age 60, of
Ridgeway, South Carolina passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Born on April 7, 1965 in
Charleston, South Carolina, Jamal was the beloved son of John Edward Anderson and Ruth Evelyn Abdullah. He grew up in
Columbia, South Carolina and was educated in the Richland School District One Public School System. Jamal was a devout Muslim whose faith molded and guided his life. He went on to build a meaningful career as an entrepreneur becoming the sole owner and proprietor of Jamal Enterprise where he was known for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. He later founded a non-profit organization Mind Matters of The Midlands providing reentry services to formerly incarcerated individuals. Jamal established multiple businesses during his lifetime, Real Fashion LLC, Real Landscaping LLC, Real Transportation Services, and Universal Fashions LLC.
Above all, Jamal was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He took great pride in his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He carried himself with quiet determination, integrity, and compassion. Those who knew Jamal speak of his warm smile, his thoughtful advice, and him greeting you with " To G-d be the glory." He had a gift for making others feel heard and valued. Whether offering guidance, telling stories, or simply sitting in comfortable silence, his presence brought reassurance and strength to all who knew him.
Jamal was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Evelyn Abdullah; sisters, Marilyn Anderson and Venus Hubbard, and grandson Antonio Riley Jr.

Columbia, SC; Terriyana Wilkens, LaPlace LA; Aminah Anderson,
Columbia, SC, Jamyla Anderson,
Ridgeway, SC, and Justice Anderson,
Ridgeway, SC; his father, John Edward Anderson; his siblings, Victoria Hibbler, Damon (Donna) Hubbard, Adrienne Anderson, Bayyinnah Anderson, Takiya Anderson, and his former wife and devoted best friend, Keisha Anderson. He is also survived by a granddaughter, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Jamal's spirit lives on in the lives he nurtured, the lessons he taught, and the support he gave faithfully. His memory will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
May he rest peacefully in Paradise.
Jamal will be remembered for his faith, kindness, and the love he shared with his family and community. His presence brought comfort and strength to those around him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
We ask Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and grant patience and strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
