Jamal Kahlil Scott entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Jamal was born on July 5, 1975, to the late Larry Scott and Essie May Ancrum Campbell. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many. Known for his unwavering love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, his strength, resilience, and a healthy dose of stubbornness, Jamal faced life's challenges with determination, courage, and heart.
He was deeply devoted to his wife, Kirsten, and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He especially cherished his beloved Siberian huskies, who were his constant companions and a source of comfort and joy.
Jamal is survived by his beloved wife, Kirsten Scott; his children, Vyktoria Scott and Jamal Scott Jr.; his stepchildren, Brittany (Eric) Fredrick and James (Clinton) Fredrick III; and his cherished grandchildren, Isaiah Fredrick and Eric Heyward III. He also leaves behind his fur babies, Kilo and Percy. Jamal is further survived by his siblings, Lousona Smith, Lazarus Campbell III, and Timothy (Bernice) Campbell Sr.; Aunts, Lillian Mungin, Eula M. McCanick, and Juanita Ancrum; Uncles, Johnny (Shirley) Brown, McArthur (Margaret) Grant, Leroy R. Smalls, Franklin Ancrum. along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry Scott and Essie May Ancrum Campbell; his grandmother, Sarah S. Brown; and his sister, Lakia Scott, with whom he is now reunited in heaven. Although his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and is at peace. Jamal will be remembered for his strength, his love, and the joy he found in life's simplest moments. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Horr AME Church, 4360 SC Yonges Island, SC 29449, with a family gathering to follow.
