Jamar Donte "Whoadie" Atkinson

Jamar Donte Atkinson was born October 20, 2000 to the parents of Angel Nicole Atkinson and Carl Ross Jr. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Markus Mitchell (Dupree).
Jamar attended Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Texas. Jamar loved to make jokes, and it was always laughter when he was around. He was known as "Whoadie" to his family, for his contagious joy and ability to shift the atmosphere in the room to one of laughter.
Jamar loved his family and children. Jamar enjoyed listening to music, cooking, playing basketball, and hanging out with his cousins. Jamar worked as a cook for many years alongside his mother. He was loved by everyone at his job and will be sorely missed.
At the age of 23, on September 19, 2024, Jamar (Whoadie) was called home.
Jamar is preceded in death by his aunt, Maranda Atkinson; grandmother, Teresa Atkinson; grandfather, Emmanuel Sorrell Jr.; great grandparents, Jerline Sorrell, Gladis Davis, and Manness Lee Tealer; and best friend, DeAnthony Mackey.
Jamar leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Brianna Atkinson; his two sons, Messiah Allen and Jamar Atkinson Jr.; parents, Angel Nicole Atkinson, Markus Mitchell (Dupree), and Carl Ross Jr.; brother, Trevon Atkinson; aunt, LaShonda Atkinson; cousins, Emmanuel Davis(Skip), Terrick Atkinson (Tum Tum), Alexandria Washington (Pinky), Joshua Brown Atkinson (Josh); along with a host of family and friends that will forever cherish his memories.
