Mr. James Edward Adams, 74, of Grenada, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at his residence. He was born December 16, 1951, in Ashland to James Douglas Adams and Dorice "Dude" Hood Adams.

James spent the majority of his life working in the construction business, where his natural talent and gifted hands made him well known and respected for his craftsmanship. An avid outdoorsman, he considered Grenada Lake his second home and truly cherished every moment spent on the water.

James could best be described as a free spirit - someone who lived life with a lighthearted attitude and an easygoing personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His warmth, humor, and love for life will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2026 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. John Goldwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include his daughter, Lacie Joan Adams of Grenada; six sons, James Joel "Jody" Adams of Charleston, James Jeremy Adams of Tallahatchie County, Casey Douglas Adams of Grenada, Haley Reed Adams of Grenada, Cody Zachariah Adams of Grenada and Jonathan Franklin Ingram of Grenada; three sisters, Jean Noland of Oxford, Bonnie Costilow of Grenada and Louise Williams of Rosebloom; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josephine Clark and Irene McNeer; and a brother, Allen Reed.
