James P. Adsit, II, 58 Boardman – There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Ave., Boardman for James P. Adsit, II of Boardman who passed away Thursday afternoon at University Hospital, Cleveland. Jim was born April 16, 1955 in Youngstown, a son of James P. and Marilyn Dunn Adsit and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Boardman High School in 1973 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Youngstown State University. Jim had been a sales rep for the Handleman Company for many years. Jim was a member of St. Christine Church. Jim was a true sportsman – he enjoyed playing softball, was an avid golfer and tennis player and loved the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. He was also a member of the Youngstown Dart Association. His true love was his music, from classical to country. He was known to his facebook friends for his "Song of the Day." Jim's newest adventure was cooking. He enjoyed making and trying new things, like specialty pizzas and other creative dishes. He was a people person and always enjoyed striking up a conversation, whether in line at the grocery store or with the next table at a restaurant. He was an avid reader and truly loved animals, especially his beloved dogs, he leaves behind, Buddy and Stevie and the many dogs that he and Shelly rescued through the years that preceded him in death. Besides his parents, James and Marilyn Adsit of Boardman he leaves his beloved wife, his high school sweetheart, the former Shelly Eagan whom he married May 22, 1982.; a brother, Rob (Patty) Adsit of Aurora; 2 sisters-in-law, Patty Elmo of Boardman, Pam (Vern) Sebbio of Canfield; a brother-in-law, Jack (Kathy) Eagan of Youngstown; and five nephews, Scott Adsit, Lance Elmo, Craig Elmo, Brett Sebbio and Kyle Sebbio. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Boardman Chapel. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad Street, Canfield 44406 or to the Friends of Fido, P.O. Box 14155, Poland, OH 44514
