James Allbert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Borek Jennings Funeral Homes - Howell Memorial Chapel on Mar. 12, 2023.
His Legacy James Homer "Buddy" Allbert, 87, passed away on March 9, 2023. He was born on November 4, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee to Homer Allbert and Christine (Sidwell) Allbert. He married and spent 25 years with Wanda Grimes, the love of his life. Buddy will be remembered as a thrifty man who loved collecting old cars, especially Mustangs, and wearing gold jewelry. He was born in Nashville and moved to Michigan when he was young but never lost his southern accent. Throughout his life he loved to travel back to his old stopping grounds of Nashville to visit friends. Buddy also loved his hamburgers, even preferring them over turkey for Thanksgiving. He was proud to serve his country in the Army in the 1950s during the same time as Elvis Presley, then spent the remainder of his 30 year career in assembly for General Motors.
His Family Buddy will be missed by his sister Elva "Sissy" Lillian Farmer; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Steve) Browning, Linda (Donald) Sylvester, Michael Farmer, Patricia Allbert, Stacy (Kevin) Workman, Kenneth (Debbie) Allbert, Christopher (Krystal) Allbert; step-children, Susan (Lee) Miller, Dwayne Silcox, and Lori (Lee) Stevens. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, brother Kenneth Allbert, and stepson Darrell Silcox.
His Farewell Buddy's family and friends will gather on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 4-6PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel. His Community Farewell will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 6PM. Pastor Michael Phelps will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to The American Cancer Society or Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Buddy's family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
