So sorry for your loss. Didn´t realize Jim had passed. My son (Trey) and I (Danny Sears) met Jim and Delores when he was with Portacool. I can´t even begin to tell you the laughs we had together. He was a good friend. RIP

Dear Delores, family and friends of James´,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at James´ passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" leaves on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Diablo (SS-479). To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Delores... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, National Chaplain USSVI.

Sending my deepest sympathy to Dolores and the Altom family. I worked with Jim over 15 years at Portacool and everyone always knew when I was talking to him on the phone because he always had me laughing! I considered him a great friend and I will miss him dearly. He was a great man and I'm glad to have known him. Dolores, you and your family will be in our prayers. with Love, Rose Jenkins
P.S.
The picture was from a Christmas party at Portacool. That's how I remember Jim ... always laughing:)
