James Banta Obituary
Jimmy was born July 26, 1947, in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Lovie Christine Banta (Stringer) and Warren Russell Banta. He lived most of his life in the Canton area, working in car parts, fabricating and mechanics. He was a member of the Meyer's Lake Sportsman's Club where he visited his friends, especially Clancy Reed.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Kenny, Bob, and Gary. Also, by his brother-in-law, David Kutt, niece, Robyn Harter and nephew, David Banta. He is survived by his wife, Suni Banta (Bonnie Kutt), and his children, Jeremiah (Kristine), Julie (Shawn), and Kristin Banta. And his eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren, who were the loves of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Banta and his family.
There will be a celebration of life held for Jimmy at the Meyer's Lake Sportsman's Club on January 17, 2026, at 1pm. All are welcome. Arrangements entrusted to Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home and Heritage Cremation Society. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of James, please visit our floral store.
