I am deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing.
Jim and I shared many good times working together at Mastercard. Our adjacent cubes were the setting for countless conversations, collaborative efforts, and a camaraderie that I will always cherish. Jim had a unique way of addressing me as "Mister Christian," which invariably brought a smile to my face. It was a playful reminder of the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty" and the dynamic between Captain Bligh and Fletcher Christian.
Jim was a wonderful colleague and a truly great person. Although life has taken us in different directions, I will always remember him fondly.
Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time.
With sympathy,
Christian

What a beautiful tribute to a life well lived. Jim was a great colleague, full of knowledge while always still wanting to learn. May sweet memories bring peace to the family in the days ahead.

Dry your Tears because the Jim I know has little time for them.. Jim Dandy is a friend, a sage, a warrior though the insanity, who was able to conjure a laugh at the ridiculous with no judgement.. Super Jim, weathered the waves of indecision, the fallacy of strategic planning and the complete whackiness of our work environment.. Jim does not need tears.. Jiim needs us to buy drinks and toast him.. ..A lot... ... His journey was filled with mirth and humour and honor..
Travel well James Barkhurst.. I will meet you at the banks of the beautiful River.. When my journey has end...

My thoughts and prayers to his friends and family. I always loved running into him at work. He always had a smile on his face and had jokes. FLY HIGH, Jim!

Jim was my friend. I miss our extended coffee breaks at work (photo) where he would enlighten me on many a topic. I will greatly miss my phone calls with him to discuss every subject imaginable. Any visit to St. Louis I could look forward to meeting him at the local Cracker Barrel. I will miss sending him texts and getting his usual hilarious comments in return. See you later my friend.

It was always a pleasure to pass by Jim at work, greeted by his warm smile and a twinkle in his eyes. His presence brought a little extra brightness to each day. I'm sorry to hear that he passed. This is a lovely obituary, and I pray that his memories and spirit bring comfort and joy to his loved ones until you meet again.
