James "Jim" G. Beilsmith, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 81. Loving husband of Patricia "Pat" Beilsmith; beloved son of the late J. Glennon and Margaret Beilsmith; devoted father of Jeff Beilsmith, Debbie (Jason) Goble, and Susie (Darl) Absher; stepfather of Scott (Laurie) Hachting, and Cindy (Al) Howe; cherished grandfather of Erika, James, Caitlin, Lacie, Jessi, Justin, and Lexi; step grandfather of Logan and Tyler Birke, Emma, Alex, and Abby Hachting; treasured great-grandfather of Harper, Dean, Walker, Copelan, and Memphis; step great-grandfather of Paisley Birke; brother-in-law of Bobbi and Rick Hudson; beloved uncle, cousin and friend. Jim is also preceded in death by his sister, Margieglen (Del) Short; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Terry Biri.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a distinguished career as a firefighter and paramedic for the City of St. Charles. He joined the department in April 1969 and served until his retirement in September 2002. As a member of the very first paramedic class in the state of Missouri, he was one of the city’s first seven paramedics, proudly holding Paramedic #51. Over his 19 years as a paramedic, he became a trusted and respected presence in the community. He was also a dedicated member of American Legion Post #312.
Jim came from a family with deep roots in St. Charles—his family established The Pine Room restaurant in the 1950s, a place fondly remembered by many. His legacy is honored on a City of St. Charles Hometown Hero Banner displayed along First Capitol Drive.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed motorcycles, classic cars, and collecting memorabilia. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Jim's name to The BackStoppers or Five Acres Animal Rescue.
