James. M. Belter age 57 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away while vacationing at his cabin in Edwards, Missouri on June 5, 2021. He was born on December 1, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska to Hugo Belter, Jr. and Barbara Ellen (Shores) Belter.
James grew up in Elkhorn and graduated from Elkhorn High School. He continued his education at the Devry Institute where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology. He was later united in marriage to Teresa M. Ortmeier on August 19, 1989, in Fremont, Nebraska, together they raised three sons, Clayton, Trevor, and Bret.
He worked for many years at Werner in Omaha and most recently worked as a contractor for IT. He was also the Owner, Operator and Founder of the Coaster Acres Tick & Chigger Ranch.
James had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing a joke or funny story with people he met. He was the guy who knew the right people to ensure a task or job was done quickly and efficiently. He was especially known around the area for his cooking, smoking, and master grilling skills including many tailgate events at High School and Nebraska sporting events. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, farming, and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Belter of Louisville, NE, sons, Clayton Belter of Louisville, NE, Trevor Belter of Louisville, NE, Bret (fiancé, Raegan Holl) of Tampa FL, sisters, Lori (Larry) Dunbar of Elkhorn, NE, Nancy Wilson of Omaha, NE, brother, Ed (Julie) Belter of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo & Barbara Belter.
A celebration of life for James will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 6:30 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield, Nebraska. Patricia and Jim Hertel, Cassandra Waltrip and Scott Boulas, Sandy and Loran Rolf, and Christine and Chad Phillips will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska at a later date.
Due to allergies, Memorials in Lieu of Flowers are suggested to the family for future designation.
